All the wedding details

Kath and James will be getting married on the afternoon of Friday 25th July, 2014 at The Pump House Gallery, Battersea Park.

It is a working gallery and there will be a 20th century American photography exhibition on the walls, so do have a nosey.

For those joining us for the ceremony, please join us for a nerve-stiffening drink from 3.30pm.  The wedding ceremony itself is due to start at 4.30pm.  Reception guests will join us from 5.15ish, and food will be served from about 6.30pm.

The park has to close at some point, so it’s carriages at about 11pm.

Getting there

If you’re arriving by taxi, please direct them to the Chelsea Gate car park, near Chelsea Bridge.   For pick ups afterwards, direct them to them to this car park which should remain open.  We’ve listed some local taxi numbers further down in the site.

The nearest rail stations are either Battersea Park (on the Southern Rail line between Victoria station and Clapham Junction) and Queenstown Road (on the South West Trains rail line between Waterloo and Clapham Junction).  They’re approximately 10 and 15 minutes walk respectively.  The nearest tube is Sloane Square on the district / circle line and from there it’s a 5 minute black cab ride (probably around £6 fare) down to Battersea Park.

You can drive and park in the car park, but parking is very expensive at £23 for over four hours.  If you’re coming from within London it will probably be more economical to get a cab (and more fun too!).

We’ve attached a map on this website.  The parking is marked with a P (obviously) and X marks the Pump House Gallery.  The route from the car park is marked with red dots on the map and well signed in the park – but essentially you take a left up Carriage Drive East towards the athletics track until you reach the main path off to the right. Take that towards the centre of the park and bear left towards the top of the lake.  You’ll see the Pump House Gallery on your left.

Practicalities

Given that we’re getting married at the height of summer, and as we have all our fingers crossed, we very much hope it will be a lovely day, weather-wise – but the reception will take place in a marquee, so please do bring along a warm cardie / shawl / poncho / jumper for later on in case the temperature drops a little.  That said, if you do get cold, the best remedy is always to have another drink!

Please don’t feel obliged to bring any sort of gifts – your presence is more than enough for us.  But, if you do feel compelled then John Lewis vouchers are always extremely useful.

Tunes

It wouldn’t be a wedding without a wedding disco.  We’d love you to dance and if you missed the subtle request on the invite, please do send us your favourite wedding anthems on email to kathgrimes184@gmail.com
